Three guys, three guitars, twenty one strings. More frets than you can possibly imagine. That's what you get when you use the Extended 7-String guitar, an instrument with exceptional depth and range. Subterranean bass. Soaring high notes. Acoustic guitar like you've never heard it before.
This Spring, Trio Seven offers a program that mixes classical masterpieces with popular music.
De Falla’s El Amor Brujo (Love, the Magician; 1914) underwent several permutations before becoming a ballet. It tells the story of Candela, an Andalusian gypsy in an arranged marriage. When her husband dies defending his mistress, Candela is torn between her dead husband and reuniting with her lover Carmelo. Cursed, she must seek out and dance with her husband’s ghost every night. Selections include the Introduction, Song of Suffering Love, Dance of Fear, Magic Circle, and Ritual Fire Dance.
